Top New Cruise Ships of 2016

About River or Ocean Cruises

New ships boast the latest innovations at sea in accommodations, restaurants, entertainment, design, facilities, services, and technology. You won't want to miss these newest ships!

  • A trailblazer in river cruising, Viking Cruises launches its second ocean-going cruise ship, the Viking Sea, in 2016. The 930-passenger capacity cruise ship features an infinity pool that extends off the back of the ship, multiple dining venues, wifi internet, shore excursions and complimentary drinks served during meals.

  • Cruising to popular destinations including the Baltic, Mediterranean, The Bahamas, Caribbean, British Isles, and Northern Europe, Holland America Line's Koningsdam  was christened by Dutch royalty in 2016. It accommodates 2,650 passengers and features ocean-view cabins for solo travelers and families, a state-of-the art theater, and the Blend, a wine blending venue where passengers have the opportunity to mix their own wines. A game changer for the usually very sedate Holland American cruise experience.

  • Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship in the world, and can accommodate 6,410 passengers! It showcases a high-speed Internet service that Royal Caribbean says allows its passengers to use the internet at the same speed and capacity they are accustomed to on land, a water slide area with three slides, and a 10-story spiral slide.

  • A 3,954-passenger ship, the Carnival Vista features a suspended ride along an open-air track atop the ship called Skyride, and a 450-foot-plus-long water tube slide. It will also be the first cruise ship that will be equipped with its own brewery, the RedFrog Pub, perfect for beer drinkers onboard. Carnival Vista sails to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

  • Seabourn Encore  is set to sail to the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia in December 2016. The 604-passenger luxury ship features a signature restaurant on-board in partnership with world-renowned chef Thomas Keller.

  • A culinary arts kitchen experience awaits the passengers of the Seven Seas Explorer, the most luxurious ship of Regent Seven Seas Cruises setting sail  to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. The 738-passenger ship features upscale amenities and private balconies in all of its suites.

  • Looking ahead to 2017, the Silver Muse, the new flagship of Silversea Cruises, is set to raise the bar in ultra-luxury cruise travel. It's designed to accommodate 596 guests in its spacious all-suite accommodations, and with amenities, facilities, and services that exude the luxury and opulence Silversea guests have come to expect.

There's nothing like being one of the first travelers to experience exciting new ships and 'test driving' the latest dining, entertainment, and activities at sea. With so many, the hardest part is deciding which of these fresh takes on cruising suits your travel style the best.
