Haida Gwaii, formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, is a remote archipelago steeped in culture and history. The traditional territory of the Haida First Nation, the Islands isolated location and unique climate make it a special destination for visitors interested in exploring nature and engagement with the Haida people. Meet a local 'Haida Watchman' and learn about his ancient village, shop for local arts and crafts and meet the artisans who make them, explore the old growth forests and beaches and experience a traditional Haida Feast! Join Fiona for this fascinating exploration of Haida Gwaii’s history, arts, and culture.

Price per person land only $3,150.00 plus GST based on two sharing and a minimum of 10 passengers (Limited to a maximum of 12). Not included: personal expenses, airfare and taxes, meals not specified, gratuities. Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrive Haida Gwaii D

Welcome to Haida Gwaii! On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your local accommodation. The

remainder of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 2 Skedans day trip B/L/D

Your first full day in Haida Gwaii will be a truly memorable one as you travel by zodiac boat to Skedans. Greeted

by a local ‘Haida Watchman’ you will learn about the ancient Village of K’uuna Llnagaay through a mix of

cultural and natural history.

Day 3 Old Massett and Tlell Artist Studios B /L/D

You travel North today and visit Old Massett (Haida Indian Reserve) with time for shopping at the local stores

featuring silver, gold and argillite carvings, prints and paintings. After lunch, we travel to Tlell’s artisan row to

meet the artists and learn about their craft. This evening we return to Queen Charlotte City.

Day 4 Port Clements and Naikoon Provincial Park B/L/D

Travelling back to the North end of the island we visit Port Clements en route to Naikoon Provincial Park.

Explore the history of the town at the Port Clements museum, a historic church, and enjoy a short walk along

Golden Sapling Trail to the famous Golden Sapling. Enjoy a picnic lunch at North Beach before embarking on a

leisurely hike to Tow Hill blowhole and later Agate beach before travelling back to Queen Charlotte City early

this evening.

Day 5 Haida Heritage B/L/D

Today immerse yourself in local traditions as we are met by a local guide and embark on an excursion to learn

about traditional Haida Cedar Bark Stripping. Later today you arrive at the Haida Heritage Centre, featuring a

series of long houses fronted by six traditional totem poles representing each of the 14 clans and is a celebration

of the living culture of the Haida people. After a guided tour of the Haida Heritage centre we join a local for a

traditional Haida Feast.

Day 6 Depart Haida Gwaii B

Following Breakfast this morning, bid farewell to Haida Gwaii as you transfer to Sandspit for your flight home!
